We had a great bike ride on Saturday followed by an awesome workout. We’ll be planning more rides in the future so be sure to try plan those into your busy schedules.
Nikki posted a nice article for everyone last week in the comments section, but I wanted to add a couple thoughts. Article here. Nutrition is important for everyone, in case I haven’t made that abundantly clear. However, all my female CrossFitters have nutritional needs that are different from your male counterparts. First, you ladies need more iron and calcium than the fellas. I think most of you already know that.
What I felt was more important and what I had not previously considered, is that because women typically require less calories than men, the calories that they take in need to be of higher quality. What I mean by that, is that you have to be more choosy with what you’re eating to ensure that you are getting everything you need (macronutrients, vitamins, minerals) in your diet. Don’t waste those valuable calories on bad food!
On a side note, I can’t preach to you about the benefits of going “zoleo” unless I do it myself. So what did I do? I went out and bought a scale and have been Zoning hard. I’ve got plenty of things to tell you about it, but I’ll save it for another post. If anyone is interested in trying the Zone, feel free to snag me at the space or send me an e-mail.
