Evidently, Clark was having some problems with his hands. Make sure you take good care of your hands as the weather heats up and the humidity rises. Sweaty hands, calluses, and swinging around on a pull-up bar (like a…?) will rip your hands to shreds. We see a lot of CrossFitters taking pictures of their hands after they’ve been ripped, sort of like badges of honor. But really, it’s a stupid preventable injury. In fact, it’s an injury that is going to prevent you from training effectively day after day (FAIL!). Don’t be stupid and don’t rip your hands! Take care of them by shaving your calluses down and keeping your hands moisturized throughout the day. And try to dry your hands the best you can during your WOD if we’re doing pull-ups (chalk helps, but don’t use it excessively). There’s a callus shaver at the gym as an example of what to use to keep your hands baby bottom smooth. People also use a Ped-Eggs or pumice stones. We don’t care what you use, but use something! And bring a friend to CrossFit tomorrow! Sheesh.
