We’ll be conducting a workout at 9:30am, Saturday 6/13 to support RVA Food Justice Alliance.
“Change the World” is for George Floyd, and every Black person across the world who has fallen victim to systemic racism, police brutality, and a broken system. Marcus-David Peters. Breonna Taylor. Tamir Rice. Atatania Jefferson. Elijah McClain. The list is massive.
George Floyd died after a police officer knelt on his neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. He was killed on Memorial Day, 2020. He was 46 years old.
We do this workout to support the Black community and take action to make a difference. We do it to recognize that the change in our community is happening because George Floyd’s life was taken.
For the next week, we are asking that our members and community help us make a real, local change.
We will be accepting donations to our Venmo account (@rvapt) leading up to the workout. RVAPT will match 100% of donations up to $3,000 with our own money.
All donations (hopefully at least $6,000) will go to RVA Food Justice Alliance.
RVA Food Justice is a local organization that focuses on advancing healthy food access by addressing historical inequalities that drive low food access in our communities.
You can participate in this workout in two ways:
- We’ll meet at 9:30am in Monroe Park. Additional details to follow.
- We’ll be running a class online via Zoom. It’ll be as simple as clicking the link below from your phone or laptop.
This workout will be adjusted to your fitness level. It’s important to us that it be accessible to anyone who would like to take part.
“Daddy changed the world.”
