New Program at CrossFit RVA: RVAFit

We’re extremely pleased to announce our new program at CrossFit RVA; RVAFit. We’ve always looked for ways to expand our offerings, while staying true to our commitment to effective training in a group class format. Starting with CrossFit group classes, over the years we’ve expanded to Yoga, Endurance, Strongman, and Weightlifting programs. Each of these programs have appealed to different groups of people, ensuring that CrossFit RVA is a good home to those dedicated to improving their fitness.

RVAFit is simply a continuation of that commitment. This will be an instructor-led group class, focusing on attaining a high level of conditioning, muscular endurance, and weight loss. Workouts will be fun and challenging – frequently incorporating kettlebells, dumbbells, running and rowing, as well as odd objects and non-traditional methods like tires, sleds, and sandbags. Classes will be 45 minutes to an hour long, including a thorough dynamic warm-up, movement prep and instruction, and of course, the day’s workout. Classes will be at the CrossFit RVA facility, held mostly indoors, and outdoors as the workouts require and the weather permits.

We’ve seen for a long time that there’s many “boot camp” programs here in Richmond which have a similar focus as RVAFit. Many of these programs are significantly lacking by design. Some utilize little to no equipment, relying solely on bodyweight movements. Others are entirely outdoors. Some of the most popular ones have huge classes, where the only instructor interaction may be getting yelled at along with the other 50+ participants in class.

We’re aiming to provide a great service to those who may want to attend a traditional “boot camp”, but are looking for a better experience. Those who want to be fit, but could care less about their “fran” time, how much they can snatch, or how many muscle-ups they can do.

Classes will be held M-F at 6:00am and 9:30am, beginning 1/13/14. Cost is $100/month unlimited, $80/month for 3 classes per week. Free to CrossFit RVA members and counting towards your weekly class limit.
