“It’s Just Exercise”
Core values so often feel like stuffy corporate-speak. Vague and meaningless words and phrases meant to give a faint impression of an organization with a little meaning behind it.
Years ago, when we were putting together ours, I wanted our core values to be both reflective of who we are, and how we will proceed in the future.
One of our core values I come back to often is “Perspective”
-We will never trade long term growth for short term gains.
-We won’t let our ego determine our outlook.
-We will remember that training is a part of life, but not our entire life.
-”It’s Just Exercise.”
We found this to be a guiding principle for us as we’ve developed our Performance program over the years.
It’s easy to jump at a “quick fix” workout that might feel great now, but won’t be sustainable for the long run.
So many train with their ego at the forefront, focusing on who they can beat each day in the gym.
Other let training take over their entire lives in a way that isn’t healthy and will eventually lead you to burnout and frustration.
We’ve coached people since 2007 in our Richmond, VA gym, and have seen so many training methods and trends come and go. We’ve seen how enticing constant high-intensity training is, and what it’s like to perpetually chase scores and numbers.
We chose to create a group fitness program that will make you perform and feel great, for the long run. That will make you strong, capable, and confident. That will add to your life and make it better, not take it over entirely.
