RVA Barbell, an Olympic Weightlifting program in Richmond, VA, is designed to help trainees improve their power, strength, and technical proficiency with the ultimate goal of lifting heavier weight in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and Squat.
Each 90 minute+, limited class size session will have you performing Olympic lifts, assistance movements, as well as strength building and auxiliary exercises to make sure that you progress safely and consistently.
Athletes of all skills levels train together, under the eye and direction of one of our experienced coaches.
Some of our athletes choose to compete (though it is by no means a requirement of the program). We have athletes at all levels, from beginners to national medalists and international competitors.
Starting with us is simple! There’s two paths:
-Barbell Basics: Our small group beginner’s program. Over 8 weeks, you’ll learn the foundations of lifting, with a specific focus on learning the movements in a safe and structured way. By the end of the 8 weeks, we’ll have you performing full Snatches and Clean and Jerks! No experience required.
-Barbell Elements: 8, 1-on-1 sessions with one of our coaches! These discounted personal training sessions will get you up to speed and allow us to focus on how to best help you as an individual.
Either way, you’ll be ready to continue your weightlifting journey in our RVA Barbell group training program!
