As personal training becomes popular, I’ve been hearing more and more misconceptions about this style of training. So let’s break down some of these myths, shall we?
Myth #1: I have to be a pro at exercising before I start working with a personal trainer.
- This is the easiest no- unequivocally, absolutely no. We work with folks at all training levels- from the absolute beginner to advanced athletes. Our coaches meet you exactly where you are and give you the tools to get a good workout in at any skill level.
Myth #2: When I get started with a personal trainer, they will decide the workouts, and they will be HARD.
- This one is easy- false! The entire point of personal training is that it is personal. Trainers will not program the work before hearing about your goals, your challenges, and your skill level. I suppose if you ask them to make a super tough workout, they will. But these sessions are all about you and helping you workout safely and in a way that supports your goals. Which brings me to my next myth…
Myth #3: I have to be training for something specific to work with a personal trainer.
- Not necessarily! I talk a lot about how trainers support your goals but those goals don’t have to be to get ready for a competition or triathlon. Maybe you want to get generally stronger, are coming back from an injury, or perhaps you just want to learn more how to exercise safely. We meet you where you are!
Myth #4: Personal training is crazy expensive, only actors and CEOs can afford it.
- Personal training is a financial investment but we have a variety of packages that suit both your budget and schedule, giving you the flexibility to train on your terms.
