Okay so you’ve taken the first step and signed up for a gym membership. You start showing up to classes and for a while, you’re consistent- maybe too consistent, deprioritizing other parts of your life so that you can show up so often. But that gets hard to maintain and you take a break… no one really seems to notice. When you do get back to the gym, it feels hard to figure out what’s right for you.
We’ve heard this story time and time again. Joining a gym is a great first step, but it is also just that- a step. What comes next is figuring out how to incorporate your goals into your life in a way that you can maintain.
At RVA Performance Training, each memberships comes with Goal Sessions with your coach. And if I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: we don’t only focus or care about your exercise routine when you’re a member here. There is more to a person and certainly more to feeling happy and healthy than the workouts you do, so why would we only focus on that?
I talked to our coaches and here are just a few of the topics covered in some of their recent Goal Sessions:
- Helping a member figure out a schedule that works for them while they have a busy season at work
- Brainstorming ways to add in more protein into a member’s diet
- Sharing exercises and progressions to help a member get their very first pull up
- Checking in on how a new member is adjusting to their move to Richmond
