Realistic Morning Routines: Simple Habits That Stick

Do y’all remember those TikTok trends where people would show their morning routine? It included stretching, outfits of the day, a very clean room, and seemingly endless products for your skin.

Well, to put it lightly, that is not what my morning routine looks like.

Instead of that serene, picture-perfect start, I’ve found a few small changes that actually fit into my life (and might help yours too).

  • First, instead of doom-scrolling, I switched to playing NYT games. It’s a lot faster, and hey, Wordle counts as brain exercise, right?
  • I also make sure to drink a big glass of water first thing in the morning. It’s such a simple habit but it makes me feel more awake and helps me at least attempt to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • And of course, there’s exercise. We offer 6am classes that are perfect if you want to get moving early and feel accomplished before the day even really starts.

So while my mornings aren’t TikTok-worthy, they’ve become a lot more manageable—and maybe yours can too with a few small tweaks.
